THE TEACHER'S ROLE IN THE FORMATION OF READERS

Dear parents, as teachers, we play an essential role in the formation of reading habits in children. In this post, we'll deepen into the work of the teacher and how you can collaborate with us to foster a love of reading in your children. Discover strategies for maintaining effective communication with our center's teachers and how to work together for the benefit of your children!

Collaboration between the school and the family is key to the formation of new readers. For example, the school can propose a list of possible readings for children to enjoy literature during their summer vacation.

Those centers that have a library space make available to students a catalog of books on loan. And students have the possibility of choosing books to read at home during the weekend. The link between families and schools is bidirectional. For example, some adults also appreciate the possibility of donating literary material to the school library.

Families can find out about the reading project carried out at the school. The school and the home are two different spaces, but they complement each other.

Many educational centers also offer parenting school workshops that train parents. They are spaces for preparation, dialogue and learning where attendees develop skills and resources to raise and educate with emotional intelligence or encourage habits such as reading at home.

On the other hand, reading encouragement can have an essential place in the catalog of extracurricular activities of the educational center.

In the following space we leave you some experiences related to reading that we have had as teachers working in a school and how we have fought them. Click here!!
