PASSIVE LECTURE

Passive lecture is basically all the things that you do not notice when you are reading but are important for you to keep focus on the book and makes you (unconscious wax) be more attracted to it. So when you get asked about what is a passive lecture you could answer, in a short way that, it is the drawines; the cover the typing font. the colors and the vocabulary that is used. To sum it up, it is everything that makes the book more attractive. For that reason when we are making an English student book we have to be very careful with the colors, vocabulary. Because if the student does not get attracted to, it is going to be harder to get his attention. So you must remind that guys!

THE TEACHER'S ROLE IN THE FORMATION OF READERS

Dear parents, as teachers, we play an essential role in the formation of reading habits in children. In this post, we'll deepen into the work of the teacher and how you can collaborate with us to foster a love of reading in your children. Discover strategies for maintaining effective communication with our center's teachers and how to work together for the benefit of your children!

Collaboration between the school and the family is key to the formation of new readers. For example, the school can propose a list of possible readings for children to enjoy literature during their summer vacation.

Those centers that have a library space make available to students a catalog of books on loan. And students have the possibility of choosing books to read at home during the weekend. The link between families and schools is bidirectional. For example, some adults also appreciate the possibility of donating literary material to the school library.

Families can find out about the reading project carried out at the school. The school and the home are two different spaces, but they complement each other.

Many educational centers also offer parenting school workshops that train parents. They are spaces for preparation, dialogue and learning where attendees develop skills and resources to raise and educate with emotional intelligence or encourage habits such as reading at home.

On the other hand, reading encouragement can have an essential place in the catalog of extracurricular activities of the educational center.

In the following space we leave you some experiences related to reading that we have had as teachers working in a school and how we have fought them. Click here!!

CHILDREN 'S BOOK RECOMMENDATIONS

Dear parents, one of the first steps in instilling a love of reading in our children is to provide them with books suitable for their age and interests. If we have learned anything in our training as teachers, it is that we must give children the freedom to choose their own books without any pressure or imposition. So by leaving them a list to work with, they will be able to try out the different options and choose the ones that best fit their profile and tastes. Parents and teachers tend to think that there are books that are for children and others reserved only for adults because we think that the difficulty of these can only be understood by older people, but when a child finds a book and gets into it, he can get to soak up all its history, characters and connections.

That is why here we offer you a list  of book recommendations for your children that could be a perfect starting point. We include classic to contemporary books, thus opening the doors of children's imagination and encouraging imagination of children and fostering their love for reading. Discover them in our new entry! Maybe there are some adult’s book in this list. Even so, you can find good adaptations of these ones.

In the following link you will find a presentation that we have designed with some books that we recommend to read at home with your children and enjoy exciting stories

THE LECTURE AND THE GAME

Dear Parents, we hope you liked our last publication in which we discussed the entry of technology in the world and especially in the lives of children and how it has affected reading. In order to expand the limits of books and stories, we propose to work on reading accompanied by a series of games so that the immersion in the book is even greater and motivates the child to continue reading.

Games are an important element in the integral development of the child, which favors motivation and learning. Through play activities, worlds are explored and created. This is accompanied by a feeling of happiness and freedom that makes children feel positive about these situations. Play is one of the most effective strategies for motivating children to read. Play is the natural behavior that children use to communicate and is linked to the best moments of childhood. Teaching through educational play allows the child to associate learning with the positive feelings that play generates.

As teachers we are aware of the importance of positive reinforcement and the importance of having a motivated student in class. Therefore, we must follow the same line of action at home with the families, since you are the most important reference for the child throughout his or her primary and infant education.

We have considered making a series of proposals that can complement reading, but never replace it. Therefore, below you will find a series of dynamics to do with your son or daughter.

Here is a link with some suggestions for working on reading and games at home.

These dynamics and games and many others (crossword puzzles, word searches...) are very beneficial to work on reading in depth and in a meaningful way. We hope you will try them out at home and let us know any other ideas you may have after reading the different entries.

ENCOURAGE A LOVE OF READING IN OUR CHILDREN: A JOINT TASK FOR PARENTS AND TEACHERS

Dear parents of our students,

for us, reading is one of the greatest treasures for our students as it enriches the mind and soul from a very early age. As teachers, we have the responsibility to encourage the habit of reading in the lives of our youngest students. Although much of this responsibility falls on us within the school, we know that this great journey of literary exploration is most effective when parents and teachers work together as a team. In this post, we would like to share certain strategies that we are sure will help create a solid reading habit in our students, a joint effort that will make a big difference in their development.
